The term 'Rudra'
refers to the aggressive form of Lord Shiva. Maha Rudra Yagna is carried
out to worship Shiva, which is Rudra Yagna. It is the most sacred and superior
among all the Maha Yagna the Rudra Yagna is powerful among all
the Mahayagna's which comprised of Deiva Yagna), and Manushyayagna
(performed with devotees seeking the blessings of the God. It is performed to
wash away all the immoralities and infirmities, to sustain peace, richness and
contented life, and family mutualness. It is believed that after the devil, Bhasmasura
was killed; Lord Shiva performed the Tandav Nritya (dance) and the
"Rudra Yagna", for the improvement of World. The Shri Rudra,
is the old type of a listing of different names of Lord Shiva. It is considered
to be of great beneficiary to human. Various attributes of Lord Shiva are
invoked by vocalizing of Shri Rudra.
