Vishnu Bali Pooja


Vishnu Bali Pooja also termed as Narayan Nagbali is a three day ritual performed at Trimbakeshwar, in Nashik and involve of two different rituals and important rituals namely Narayan Bali and Nag Bali, performed on the first and second day. The third day is for a important ritual called Ganesh Pujan, Punya Wachan and  Nag Pujan. This ritual is carried  to demand  Lord Narayana for an person who has an unnatural or untime person death. The Garud purana 40th chapter is dedicated to the Narayan Bali Rites. Narayan bali is a good ritual which is performed to relief the dead person's soul who has gone sudden death on other hand Nag bali is done to get rid of the sin caused by killing a snake, who is worshiped throughout India.

 Narayan Bali Puja is performed to appease the unsatisfied demand of the dead person souls which are trapped in present world ancestors stay with the soul even after death. Lord Vishnu further states this in 40 th chapter the Garuda Purana to Shree Garuda: – “Until the funeral rituals are properly performed the deadperson roams about day and night in the form of shadow matter”. Narayan Bali Puja is performed by taking Oath/sankalpa is done by invoking Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Yam and preta , Narayan bali srardham is done and later Narayan bali homa is performed and at the end pind pradan is performed in Kaveri river and the person performing  takes bath and has darshan of Sri Ranganatha swamy.
